Policy and Advocacy Workshop for Implementing Partners 2013

KHANA Policy and Strategy Team organized the Policy and Advocacy Workshop for its implementing partners from 3 to 7 June 2013, at King Fy Hotel in Battambang province of Cambodia. Twenty-two participants from KHANA’s implementing partners were selected to this workshop.

The workshop covered different topics and built participants’ ability for policy advocacy and ability to share policy issues/concerns and success stories to policy makers, donors and general population through monthly highlights, hot news writing, feature stories, and case studies. The workshop also discussed the development of ‘Theory of Change’ and photo documentation. Communication and public relations were also discussed and referred as ways to bring unheard voices of PLHIV, OVC, MSM, DU and EW to policy makers and the public.

At the end of the workshop each participant developed the draft of their individual annual work-plan for policy and advocacy work between June 2013 and May 2014.

KHANA annually organize the writing workshop to establish new key correspondents. Since 2009 KHANA has trained approximately 100 people to become key correspondents. These key correspondents include PLHIV, OVC, LGBT, EW, DU and NGO staff members. In 2012 the writing workshop was replaced with the Policy and Advocacy Workshop, allowing to having discussions on more policy and advocacy work.
