International Human Rights Day is a national holiday of Cambodia. KHANA closes its office on the Day. The International Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December. The date was chosen to honor the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
In Cambodia, several days before 10 December, many NGOs annually marks the Day with reports on human rights abuses, visits to prisons, petitions, joint statements, roundtable discussion on human rights, radio/TV talk shows about rights, calls for actions to end violence and so on.
