2008 was the first year of implementation of KHANA’s Strategic Plan for 2008-2010. It was a year of consolidation for KHANA, when our community based care and prevention services achieved increased coverage and we focused on increasing the quality of our programs as well as maintaining strong and effective partnerships with stakeholders. Nationally, KHANA implementing partners were delivering 43% of home and community based care. Other achievements in this year, including collaboration with the National AIDS Authority and 17 other partners to organize the Third National AIDS Conference. 2008 also saw the emergence of the Global Financial Crisis which impacted on Cambodia, resulting in increased food and income insecurity for the most vulnerable, many of whom are PLHIV and OVC.
