Gay Pride in Cambodia is not a national holiday. The Government generally allows gay bars to exist, along with annual pride festivals and some degree of political activism on behalf of LGBT-rights. Several organizations have arisen to sponsor social activities for LGBT people as well as campaign for human rights and dignity.
In 2009 USAID partners PSI, FHI and KHANA collaborated with members of high-risk populations to develop innovative programs to protect them from HIV/AIDS and other sexual health problems. KHANA also financially supports its NGO partners that work on LGBT issues and rights to celebrate Gay Pride to raise awareness on HIV and to protect them from HIV/AIDS and other sexual health problems.
